Tiesto Inks Multi-territory PIAS Deal
August 03, 2009 - Global | Dance

By Richard Smirke, London

Dutch dance artist Tiesto has partnered with Brussels-based PIAS Entertainment Group for the release of his fourth album "Kaleidoscope."

The distribution and service deal sees PIAS working alongside N.Y.-based Compete Control Management and Tiesto's own newly-formed label Musical Freedom to release "Kaleidoscope" internationally, excluding North America, on Oct. 5. Outside the United States, Tiesto's previous albums appeared on Dutch indie Black Hole recordings.

"Kaleidoscope" is Tiesto's fourth album and will be preceded in the United Kingdom Sept. 14 by the single "I Will Be Here". Warner U.K. imprint 14th Floor will be handling the lead single release but PIAS will handle all subsequent single releases.

The album will be marketed in the United Kingdom via PIAS U.K.'s Integral service, and in other territories through PIAS Entertainment Group's international network of local offices and affiliates.

In a statement Tiesto said: "I am happy to be releasing my new album through the PIAS system. I have always admired their independent spirit and the work they do for their artists."

Edwin Schroter, international director, PIAS Entertainment Group added: "Anyone who has seen one of the recent stadium shows or just read the long list of spectacular achievements throughout Tiesto's career, will agree that he is a unique artist with a unique sound and, with 'Kaleidoscope,' he has delivered an album with truly global appeal."

Tiesto's last album "Elements Of Life" (Ultra) was nominated for a Grammy in 2007 for Best Electronic Dance Album. To support the new album, he will embark on a 150-date worldwide tour throughout 2009-2010. Stretching across 5 continents, the "Kaleidoscope" tour begins in North America, Sept-Nov. 2009. The tour then calls at: Latin America, Dec. 2009-Jan 2010; Australia & Asia, Jan-Feb. 2010; Europe, Mar-May 2010 and culminates in European & U.S. festivals in summer 2010.

Pre-sale tickets for North American shows in September/October went on sale July 31. Tickets go on general sale Aug. 7.
