By Mariel Concepcion, N.Y.
Drake will headline "The Away From Home Tour," his first North American solo trek, which runs from Apr. 6 through May 8. The 25-city jaunt follows his participation in the "Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival," which was headlined by Lil Wayne.
"The Away From Home Tour" will feature performances from Canadian rapper/singer K-OS and the synth pop New York band Francis & The Lights. It will make stops in Orlando, New Orleans and Boston as well as over 15 colleges and universities as part of the "Campus Conscious Tour" before its final stop in Plymouth, NH.
Drake, in conjunction with Reverb -- a non-profit organization that promotes environmental-friendly techniques -- has adopted and eco-friendly policy for "The Away From Home Tour." Dubbed the "Campus Consciousness Tour," Drake has "greened" his tour with the use of biodiesel fuel and biodegradable and recyclable products on the bus and backstage.
Drake will also showcase an "Eco-Village" with tents which will feature environmental and other socially-conscious groups educating on green technology, student carbon-offset programs and eco-friendly consumer sampling. This portion of the tour is being produced by Pretty Polly Productions in conjunction with Reverb.
