New SUISA CEO To Take Charge July 2010 February 09, 2010

Swiss collecting society SUISA has confirmed that its new CEO Andreas Wegelin will take charge July 1, 2010.
SUISA's current CEO, Alfred Meyer, will be going into retirement at the end of June 2010.
On the board of SUISA, the Swiss Cooperative Society for Music Authors and Publishers, two managers currently responsible for individual departments will be joining the new executive committee.
Vincent Salvadé is to the newly appointed EVP and head of the licensing and user services, the department currently headed by Andreas Wegelin.
Salvadé joined the executive Committee Jan. 1 and took over the negotiations with user associations. Irène Philipp Ziebold will take over as director of the members and distribution department on July 1. This department is currently run by Jean Cavalli, who will be leaving SUISA to become director of SSA (Société Suisse des Auteurs).
As previously reported, SUISA posted an income for composers, authors and publishers of 121.6 million Swiss francs ($113.9 million) for 2008, an increase of 7.9% over the prior year.
SUISA is the society for composers, lyricists and music publishers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and has 27,000 members. It has 200 employees in its offices in Zurich, Lausanne and Lugano.
