Fontana Names Spaulding Exec VP and GM November 09, 2007

Fontana Distribution, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group (UMGD), has appointed Ron Spaulding as executive VP and GM. Spaulding will report to Jim Urie, the President of UMGD, and will be based in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Fontana, Spaulding served as executive VP/GM of Asylum and EastWest Records. He also served as the senior VP of sales at WEA, Warner Music Group’s distribution arm. While at Warner Music, Spaulding worked with a number of successful labels, including Fueled By Ramen Glassnote Records and Fearless Records, among others.
Prior to his work at WEA, Spaulding served as senior VP of Sales at Elektra Entertainment Group. He began his career in the music industry at Priority Records, first in Minneapolis as a sales representative, and later becoming VP of sales at the label’s Los Angeles office.
