Chicago-based independent booking firm The Windish Agency has announced that it will open a New York office. The new office -- located at 580 Broadway in Manhattan -- will open in the first week of February.
Joining The Windish Agency's New York staff effective immediately is agent Mike Mori, who previously served as an agent at The Agency Group in New York. His clients include Ra Ra Riot, the Antlers, Cloud Cult, Lenka, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Jedi Mind Tricks and We Are Scientists, among others.
"I’m real excited about the New York office and I’m really hoping it leads to some new opportunities," The Windish Agency president Tom Windish tells Billboard.biz. "I’m hoping that another agent who’s established comes along and wants to join us."
Windish notes that he's also hoping to open a West Coast office in the future. "I hope the same kind of thing happens in Los Angeles," he says. "There are a lot of talented people in both of those markets who’d be really happy at our organization."
In addition to Mori, the New York office will also house The Windish Agency booking agent Steve Goodgold, who was hired last August after working in the same role at Chaotica/Vital Talent in New York. Their assistants will also join them in the new location.
The Windish Agency's roster includes such acts as Animal Collective, Crystal Castles, Dan Deacon, Deerhunter, Diplo, Hot Chip, Dirty Projectors, Friendly Fires, Girl Talk, Kid Sister, Ladytron, Little Boots, M83, No Age, the Presets, the xx, Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, Matt & Kim, Jose Gonzalez, Yeasayer, Tortoise, Fool's Gold and Cut Copy, among many others.
