The Vevo music video network scored another month as the top music entertainment network in the U.S, according to recent data from comScore, and also for the first time broke into the top 10 list of overall internet video properties.
This marks the third month Vevo took the top spot in comScore’s Entertainment-Music category, with 35.4 million unique visitors in February. That includes videos views on the Vevo.com site, as well as sites syndicating its videos, which include YouTube and various video blog sites. Most of Vevo’s traffic comes from YouTube, as CEO Rio Caraeff explained at Billboard’s recent Music & Money conference.
Rounding out the top five were MySpace Music in second with 29.3 million unique visitors, AOL Music with 24 million, MTV Networks Music with 20 million and Yahoo Music with 16 million.
Internal Vevo numbers show that the service has streamed more than 2 billion videos since its Dec. 8 launch. It now ranks ninth among all online video sites in terms of unique visitors, just above AOL, and also ninth in terms of total videos viewed, ahead of CBS Interactive.
