France?s Zimbalam Plants Flag In North America

Digital music distribution network Zimbalam is launching in the U.S. and Canada. Owned by indie music distributor Believe Digital, Zimbalam places clients? music on 25 different digital music services, including iTunes and Spotify for a flat rate of $30 a year for the first year. Subsequent years the rate is $20 for each album posted and the artists keep all royalties after these costs are recouped.

The company is publicizing the launch at next weeks South By Southwest music festival with a special offer to distribute any artist?s first album on the network for $6 through the end of March.

Bridging the gap between the independent music community and major labels, Zimbalam also gives artists with breakout potential the opportunity to benefit from the A&R team of parent company Believe Digital (www.believedigital.com). Artists with strong performance on the Zimbalam network are assigned a personal A&R manager to provide valuable advice and support on release strategy, marketing and promotion investment and to ensure they are receiving the greatest exposure while maximizing monetization opportunities.
