Nicki Minaj is getting super social on the Billboard Social 50 chart, as the hip-hop diva flies from No. 16 to No. 10 -- her visit to the top 10 since the Dec. 24 tally when she ranked at No. 8. She saw a 17% gain in Twitter followers in the tracking week and an 19% rise in YouTube views.

Lana Del Rey's major label full-length debut album, "Born to Die," is off to a fast start. Industry sources say that the set may sell between 60,000 to 70,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Feb. 5. That should easily give the album at No. 2 debut on the Billboard 200 chart next week.

The murky details didn't prevent droves of model-types, mussy-haired indie boys, candy ravers and music bizers like WMG Chairman of Recorded Music Lyor Cohen from checking out Skrillex's highly-danceable set of bombastic beats.

Flo Rida feels a lot like Tom Brady or Eli Manning right about now. The rapper's No. 3-peaking single "Good Feeling" is about to become even more ubiquitous after it's featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Budweiser, titled "Eternal Optimism." The song is juxtaposed against The Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary" and apparently has made Flo Rida one happy rapper.

Live Nation's stock jumped 3.4% Friday following reports that tickets for Madonna's 2012 tour would go on sale after Sunday's Super Bowl, where the singer is performing at the halftime show. Universal Music Publishing Group executive VP of international Andrew Jenkins has been elected as chair of the International Confederation of Music Publishers at the organization’s general assembly annual meeting, held at MIDEM on Jan. 29, serving a two-year term. Elsewhere, Imagem signed two global publishing deals, and Reel Muzik Werks signed up La Toya Jackson and others.
