Backbeat: Karina Pasian Talks Valentine's Day EP, Courtship With Label Execs
January 26, 2012   |    By Erika Ramirez, New York

Last month (Dec. 12), Karina Pasian returned from close to a three year hiatus with a digital-only six track EP titled, "Trips to Venus." The EP included a piano-heavy version of "This Christmas Song," in time for the holidays.

"We couldn't go another year without putting some music out, especially for her fans," Yuson Charles, Karina Pasian's manager told Billboard.com.

While having lunch with Pasian and manager Yuson in NYC last Friday, Charles shared that the Dominican-American singer will re-release her sophomore project on Valentine's Day, February 14. Pasian will substitute "This Christmas Song," off the original EP, with a Bachata version of Minnie Riperton's "Loving You."

Pasian will also debut two videos -- "When You're in Love" and "Dead End" -- at the time of her EP re-release.

While Pasian -- now an indie artist but once signed to Def Jam, by L.A. Reid -- is being courted by label executives, she readies on her yet-to-be titled sophomore studio album, with a tentative Sept. 2012 release date.
